To support National Healthcare Decisions Day on April 16th, POLST Illinois offered a webinar to healthcare workers across the state. Over 200 people signed up to participate, sponsored by Telligen, Illinois’ Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO).
Julie Goldstein, M.D., Chair of the POLST Taskforce and clinical ethicist and palliative care physician at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Chicago addressed frequently asked questions to solidify understanding of POLST to ensure that patients’ wishes are being determined and documented correctly. Guidelines for use of the POLST form in health care settings were also discussed.
