On July 15, 2015, the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services published its proposal for the creation of two new CPT codes that would reimburse health care professionals for engaging in advance care planning conversations with Medicare and Medicaid patients. Comments are due 5pm (Eastern) September 8. The proposal is expected to take effect January 1, 2016.
The National POLST Paradigm Task Force (NPPTF) will be submitting a letter of support and are hoping that, individually and on behalf of your state POLST Program, you do the same. Attached is a draft letter you can use or you may draft your own. We would appreciate a copy of whatever you or your program submits.
